Dreams Guest House

We spent two nights at the hotel in La Spezia. After we paid at checkout, the owner drove us to the train station for our airport train. He had checked the receipt before we left and seemed satisfied. About half an hour later, just before the train was due to depart, he showed up yelling that the payment had failed. He called us thieves, assaulted me, tore my shirt, and pulled me off the train, leaving my partner on board. I got into his car and he drove me back to the hotel to sort it out. On arrival, his bank called to say the transaction had gone through and there was no problem. It was the hotel's mistake. By then I'd missed the train, my partner was travelling alone in a foreign country, and I had no wallet. We both nearly missed our flight home. If I hadn't had a flight to catch, I would have gone to the police. He should be arrested for what he did. I doubt this was the first time he'd behaved like this, and assaulting guests says a lot about his character. Do not stay here unless you're willing to risk being assaulted by the owner. Avoid at all costs.

We were there at the start of April, and breakfast wasn't included. The price felt a little high, though still fair. The owner was really nice and helpful, and the rooms were beautiful, clean, and had everything we needed. Nice view and a pretty good location. Very recommendable.

They let us use the shower in our room after checkout, once we'd finished our Cinque Terre hike. That was perfect for our night-before stay. Grazie mille!

Great place and a really good stay! The hosts were friendly and helpful, and the room and bed felt cosy, clean, and fresh. Breakfast was amazing too, with cappuccino, tea, sandwiches, cake, muesli, orange juice, and everything else you need. Just perfect!
