The manager made our late check-in straightforward and explained everything clearly. We slept really well, with soft sheets, a clean bathroom, and AC that worked like a charm. There was enough room for three adults, with one queen bed and one twin. The town is nice to walk around and has lots of places to eat. We barely noticed street noise. The church next door rang its bell from 7 am, which I found charming. I’d recommend the place for friends, families, or young people.

There’s plenty of space, and the location is great for the train station and La Spezia’s shops. But the kitchen wasn’t very clean when we arrived, and the sink was clogged, so we didn’t use it. No parking on site, and the first free spot is a 15-minute walk away. The evenings were noisy, with music and loud conversations from the café terraces, and we couldn’t sleep until 12:30 a.m. Starting at 7 a.m., the nearby bell tower chimes every hour. The bathroom is missing a light fixture, there are no bedside lamps, and the decor could use an update.

It’s right in central La Spezia, which is great, but there’s no elevator and no free parking nearby. Paid street parking is limited to 1.5 hours, and free parking is far away. The front door to the house doesn’t lock, even though the rooms use security keys. There’s nobody available to help after 6 p.m., and no mobile number for emergencies. The Wi-Fi didn’t work.

The location works really well if you want to be near both the station and the city center. Trouble is, the nightlife and bar nearby kept me awake until 1 a.m. Such a shame.
