We all stayed happily occupied, even when the weather turned bad over the final two days, thanks to how warm and caring the staff were, especially with our six-year-old, who was the only child there. We spent six nights at the hotel as a family of three, and the food and service were excellent. We also loved that the menu changed every day, so we were never disappointed. Being up in the mountains gave us beautiful surroundings, though getting around took planning and we had to keep an eye on when the lifts closed.

The setting is beautiful and the spa is nice, but the rest of the experience was unacceptable. We confirmed our stay and shuttle beforehand, yet staff said we had no reservation and accused us of lying. We waited outside in -10°C for more than an hour and no one apologized. The manager was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. The shuttle and service were well below 4-star standards. The rooms are dated, the ski room was a mess, and there was no welcome at all. First impressions matter. I wouldn't return or recommend it.

The restaurant and the people there were a real bright spot. Dinner was served very slowly, but the food was outstanding. The chef is very talented, and the restaurant manager was kind, professional, and clearly cared about guests. The reception staff were excellent too, especially the woman who welcomed us, explained things clearly, and showed us around. The pool and the hotel's facilities also made a strong first impression. For friendliness, the staff deserve five stars. After that, though, the problems piled up. The hotel calls itself “ski-in/ski-out,” but there was no direct ski access. Getting back from the slope meant walking about 200 meters uphill in ski boots while carrying skis. On our first day, slope 7 toward the hotel was closed and unprepared, as were more than 60% of the slopes at La Thuile. There is a short shuttle, but pickup is as early as 3:00 PM, cutting short a ski day we'd already paid for. The rooms were clean, but the air was so dry that it made sleeping uncomfortable. The spa had a beautiful view, but didn't meet the standard we'd expect from a hotel in this category. There were no essential oils in the saunas, the steam sauna smelled unpleasant, and the pool towels were 100% polyester, unsuitable for sauna use and uncomfortable on the skin. The sensory showers had only cold water and no aromatherapy. Plain water was the only drink available, with no tea or other beverages, which you'd expect at this level. There was no complimentary water in the room, only minibar bottles at €2.50 each. For a hotel claiming to be 4+, water should be provided free every day. There was no kettle, tea, or similar basic amenity either. The checkout was the worst part. At check-in, we were told checkout was at 11:00 AM. On our last evening, we were abruptly told we could leave at 8:00 AM or 5:00 PM, with no option for the usual time. Breakfast officially began at 8:00 AM, but they prepared it at 7:30 for us, though it wasn't ready. We had only 30 minutes to eat, pack, and leave. The director pressured us to pay immediately at checkout and said he wouldn't wait. The bill was very long and difficult to check properly. I caught one incorrect charge, which they removed, but we were rushed to pay before we could review everything. Back home, I went through the bill carefully and found another charge for a meal we hadn't ordered. We never had lunch at the hotel. I contacted them for an explanation and asked for a signed receipt as proof. They provided nothing, saying that paying at checkout meant I had accepted every charge. This isn't about the amount, it's about fairness and how guests are treated. That approach was deeply disappointing and doesn't fit a hotel claiming a high standard. The place has potential, and the restaurant team was excellent, but poor management, a lack of transparency, and all these shortcomings mean I can't recommend it. The ending completely changed our opinion.

We travel around Europe for eight weeks each year, and I work as a digital nomad, so I need broadband, a desk, a good bed, heating, and a view that gives me some inspiration. Re delle Alpi had all of that, plus a great pool and spa and a high-quality restaurant with reasonable dinner prices. We'd read the reviews beforehand and thought the complaints sounded noisy but minor. It was worth the cost. Given how much we travel, I can highly recommend this place, and we almost never give top marks.

The dinner was very good and the staff were friendly, but for €650 per night, staying at Re delle Alpi was disappointing. We were told only a suite was available, so we booked it. It was very small, spread over two floors, with a cold metal staircase and a room door that didn't line up properly. The view was great. The service was poor, and guests have to take their own luggage to the storage room and carry it out again when leaving. The ski room was tiny, smelly, and a mess. Wellness cost an extra €40, which covered only entry. Breakfast was limited. Out of curiosity, we asked about a cheaper room and were again told only a suite was available, this time in the old part for over €1,000. We left and spent the next night at a cozy, clean, friendly B&B in La Thuile itself. We won't return to Re delle Alpi.
