For the price, what you get here makes this hotel top rated in my book. We only needed a cheap one-night stop while passing through town to visit the Forst brewery. The room was comfortable, and the service and breakfast were fine for the price. I’d read the comments below about cats, but that wasn’t our experience. We had a great visit.

The terrace has lovely views over Merano and the Adige Valley, and there’s a fridge at reception with drinks. I was there for four nights with my motorcycle, and they had underground parking for motorcycles. Everything was spot on, from check-in to the room and the generous breakfast buffet. A fantastic hotel all around.

We came for a weekend with our children and friends. The hotel is in Lagundo, very close to Merano. Our room was modern and spacious, with a large, nice bathroom, though there was no bidet and the only soap was hand soap in the shower. Our friends' room was older. Check-in starts at 2:00 PM, and they won't let you in earlier if you arrive before then. We also had a problem with breakfast. We told the hotel by email and phone that my son has celiac disease, but all that came to the table for him was two slices of bread. Our own breakfast was plentiful, although the croissants ran out halfway through. In my view, a few small changes could make a big difference.

We were glad this was just a one-night stay at the end of an organized hike across the Alps. Our forwarded luggage and hiking boots were kept in a grimy underground garage that smelled strongly of cat fur and was overrun with cats. The room looked untouched since the 1970s, with dark brown, dated curtains, beds, pictures, shower, and toilet. Lighting came from fluorescent tubes, the hallway light didn't work, and the shower over the bathtub had a flimsy partition. Water wouldn't drain properly, so it wasn't a comfortable place to stay. Breakfast was mostly shrink-wrapped packets and canned fruit.
