The farmhouse and its surroundings are beautiful, and we had a lovely, quiet holiday here. We liked the agriturismo and the swimming pool, though after a few days it was getting dirty before the owner cleaned it. Florence, Volterra, Siena and other places are easy to reach from here. We heard a sound like a tractor, which turned out to be a water pump in the fields. Someone had complained about noise, but for us it was okay and didn't bother us. We missed air conditioning, a kettle, microwave, washing machine, salt, sugar and fresh towels after a few days, so we had to buy all the food and ingredients ourselves. The daytime heat meant we had to keep the windows open, which made things quite okay. The owners are kind, even though they don't speak much English. For check-in, it's better to call 15 minutes ahead so the owner or his wife has time to get to the farmhouse. I loved staying here and would come back. Just keep in mind it's a farmhouse, not a fancy hotel.

We stayed for two weeks in the first half of August, about two months before writing this, with our two-year-old son and friends who had a two-year-old daughter. The apartment was spacious, nice and cosy from the start, and the amenities were great. We were looking for somewhere quiet, so the location suited us perfectly, and the view was amazing. Seeing Volterra at night from a distance made a glass of Tuscan wine even better. The owners were kind and helpful. Many landmarks and even the beach were within reach in an hour. It was a great experience!

The location is excellent, but the place was poorly maintained. When we arrived, it hadn't been cleaned. The pool had green moss and a week's worth of garbage, and there were wasps under the patio. The dishwasher was broken and stayed that way all week. The air conditioning, at €12.00 a day, worked poorly. The manager, or possibly the owner, wasn't available to sort out the problems. It's a shame, because the place has so much potential. August 2024
