We were worried because we couldn't speak Italian, but a kind staff member who spoke English helped us a lot. Thanks to her, we even managed to rent a car without any trouble. Each morning, the staff took time to explain the breakfast choices, including traditional Sicilian desserts. As a Korean, the longer I stayed in Italy, the more I missed a simple Americano, and they made sure I could have one every morning along with perfectly cooked scrambled eggs. I'm so grateful. If you're looking for glamorous, city-style accommodation, this place and the island may not suit you. But the people here made the experience so heartwarming. I came to this little island hoping to get far from South Korea, and I'm leaving with beautiful memories thanks to the wonderful hotel staff. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Warning about my experience: Hotel Martello Lampedusa has not released my online booking deposit of 800 eur, even though I paid 400 eur directly at reception for my stay on May 13th. I stayed from 10-14 May 2023, at a rate of 100eur per night. After I asked several times for the deposit back, the hotel stopped replying to my emails. They kept three times more money than they should have for my stay. I've filed an official fraud claim through my credit card operator and am in the process of suing the hotel for fraud. If you book here, make very sure your money is safe. The hotel itself is very basic, far from the European 3 star standard, and the staff doesn't speak English.

The hotel sits in a perfect spot by the harbor, and the staff were friendly, helpful, nice, and polite. Even though I don't speak Italian, they did their best to make me feel welcome. Gianfranco was especially special to me. Grazie mile per tutto, amici.
