That spot right below the castle really sticks in your mind, and the rooms are lovely. We had a great breakfast too. It's a fab place in the hills outside Parma, and if you're thinking of booking, I don't think you'll regret it. I'd definitely go to the restaurant for dinner one night as well, the food was delicious and the setting was unbeatable.

The restaurant was the highlight for us, and I’d call it a must visit, along with the castle tour. Breakfast was delicious and the atmosphere was very good. The castle has the most unusual interior decoration I’ve experienced, though the rooms themselves aren’t period rooms: you can see the false beams and hear the hollow stucco. Our room was very small. At check-in, the gentleman told us the restaurant was closed when it wasn’t, and gave us the wrong tour opening time for the castle. Even so, it made for an exciting stay.

It was easy to arrange visits to local Parma food spots from here. We went to the ham factory at Conti, took the cheese tour at Saliceto, and ate at Ristorante Simone Vino-Cibo-Ricerca. We’d hoped to dine at Ristorante Taverna del Castello, but it was closed the day we were there. The B&B is in a beautiful spot on the hill beside the majestic Castello di Torrechiara, almost like stepping onto a movie set. We were a family of four, two adults and two children, and had a large top-floor room. It was well appointed, with a bright, clean washroom, air conditioning, and an amazing view from the window. Breakfast was healthy and plentiful, and the host was quick and easy to communicate with.

A lovely different kind of place to spend the night. The room was good and breakfast decent. There's a little shop for wine and sausage tastings, plus a restaurant for dinner.
