La Torretta

A spacious, very clean place in a quiet area, with everything you need. The owners are super nice. I highly recommend staying here if you have a car.

The owners are super friendly, and the house is in a peaceful, pretty village. Great service for the price.

The sheets were fresh-smelling and comfortable, and we had an excellent lunch at the winery, especially the lasagna. La torretta is such a beautiful house that it practically speaks for itself, and it would suit a couple or a family with older kids. Rita is a warm, one-of-a-kind hostess, and Riccardo is just as lovely, happy to tell you about the old winery’s history. They’re both delightful. There aren’t many amenities for guests, but for a stay of just a couple of days, that was fine.

Laterina is a small, welcoming village, though there isn’t a lot to see. The house makes a good base for exploring nearby places. It’s a beautiful old two-story home, well kept inside and arranged in comfortable rooms. From one side, it looks over the valley. The entrance is modest, like most village houses, but once inside, it feels cared for. At night, distant frogs and nocturnal birds can lull you to sleep. Sometimes wild boars in the valley set off the guard dogs and spoil the quiet. For city dwellers, it’s a nice escape from the usual rush. The Trattoria in the piazza has recently changed management, and they don’t offer aperitifs or breakfast, so it’s better to eat elsewhere.
