Park Hotel

The room wasn’t too bad, but dinner was a few peas with raw chicken. Breakfast was okay, though there was no food left just 10 minutes after it started. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone.

The breakfast buffet was the worst I’ve had at a hotel in Western Europe. Aside from the olive oil, which was the only organic item I saw, everything tasted like bland industrial food. The apples were the most tasteless I’ve ever eaten. We barely ate anything and didn’t even finish what little we had, which is unusual for us. Staff were very unfriendly, and there was rubbish all around the hotel. The building itself is quite run down. Their claim to be ecological feels like a big lie: the garden is lit all night, causing light pollution, and the curtains don’t block much light. The radiator thermostats were hanging off their cables, and the air conditioning didn’t work even after we asked about it. The shower head is mounted so low it might suit someone 1.60 m tall. There’s clearly no soundproofing either. If we spoke Italian, we could have understood every word from our room neighbor.

The rooms were dirty, with dust and mold around the windows, and the pool isn’t part of the hotel, so it costs extra. We booked a superior room, but arrived to find we’d been given a standard room without any notice or deduction, as if they hoped we wouldn’t notice. When we went back to reception, they said, “Oh yes, sorry, superior rooms are finished.” They gave us another standard room, and only when we were ready to leave did we get a superior room. They aren’t honest. Avoid this place.

Really good value for money. The breakfast was very good, and the room was clean and comfortable. The restaurant on the terrace was excellent, with friendly staff, generous portions, and normal prices. The room had great facilities, including good coffee at the bar. There’s also a nice yard where you can sit and enjoy a coffee or beer. I’ll definitely choose this place again.
