The place sounded like a dream in the description, but the reality was quite different. I hate leaving a bad review, and I was grateful that there was running water, AC, a fridge, toilet, shower, bed, and electricity. Beyond those basics, though, the house and grounds felt bare, plain, and short on comforts or attention to detail. It’s one large old house divided into apartments, and the outside was poorly maintained and not clean. Steam cleaning, a coat of paint, and some tidying would help. There was no Wi-Fi, which came up more than once during our stay. After driving for over 5 hours, mostly in rain, we found no reception area. We knocked on a door, and luckily someone answered and called the owner. Communication was hard, and without Wi-Fi we couldn’t use Google Translate. It started raining again while we waited, so we sat in the car. The owner eventually arrived. He didn’t speak much English, but we got the key. The terrace had a folding card table, one plastic chair, two wet chairs, and no shade. Some tiles were broken, and there was garbage under the stairwell. The panoramic view was only visible if you stood at the terrace railing. Inside, the main room was a kitchen with a small table and chairs and a bed, with no sofa or extra chairs. Cutlery, cooking utensils, and tableware were sparse and mismatched. There was no kettle, and we had to ask for a lighter to use the stove. The shower was incredibly small, and the toilet was so close that you had to sit sideways. The bedroom had a clean but old fitted sheet, and I had to ask for a top sheet. There was nowhere to put our suitcases. There were no reading lights or lamps, just very bright ceiling lights. The one in the kitchen/main room had dust and spider webs on it. Google Maps doesn’t show the right location. Coming from Agropoli, you pass the suggested turn, then turn right just down the road before the left-hand curve. There’s a famous restaurant that makes Mozzarella Cheese there. Take another right and follow the narrow, winding, bumpy one-car road uphill. You just hope nobody is coming down, because the drivers who do use it drive like maniacs.

We were only passing through and stayed one night, but I was satisfied. The owner was friendly and very helpful. The rooms were spacious and clean, the view breathtaking, and the place was undeniably peaceful.

For a simple stay with beautiful scenery, this place is a great choice. The road in could be better, but the trip is worth it. The host is very kind, and I highly recommend the place.

The rooms each have a terrace, plus a lovely loggia with a table and chairs. Our double room was genuinely spacious, and so was the bathroom. Both had been recently renovated and were simply but functionally furnished. Piero, the owner, was incredibly kind and helpful. The B&B sits in a commanding position, with a spectacular view over the whole valley from the terrace. It wasn’t the easiest place to find, so look for the Antica Giara dairy. After that, there’s a slightly bumpy road to climb. If you’re looking for peace and quiet, this is an ideal spot.

For an affordable stay away from the town center, this is a good property. It’s quiet and peaceful, with several room types to suit different needs, and all were well maintained and fully furnished. The owner was courteous, helpful, and always available if guests had an issue. A lot of people mention the road, and the poor condition is real, though the host was upfront about it. It’s paved, with just a few potholes, so it’s not the end of the world.
