Il Convento B&B

Breakfast was small but had everything needed, and on a nice morning you can eat outdoors in the cloister. The view across the green hills is lovely, and the rooms are roomy, clean, and airy. This old convent has been turned into a real gem of a B&B in Laurino. The people running it are warm and courteous, and it’s so peaceful at night, with fresh air that makes it easy to sleep well. I’d definitely tell people to visit at least once.

Cristina gave us a short, fascinating tour of the convent and its hidden details, and suggested places to see nearby and local restaurants for dinner. She also runs cultural activities in the village and at the convent. My husband Luciano and I stayed two nights, August 28 and 29, 2024, at B&B Il Convento di Sant'Antonio in Laurino, a splendid 15th-century convent that has been mostly restored. Cristina welcomed us warmly. She has renovated the former friars' cells into a simple, inviting place, keeping the natural setting intact and making it even more charming. Our room had comfortable beds, linens, a bathroom, TV, and fan. Breakfast was excellent and varied, served in the beautiful cloister among the frescoes depicting the story of Sant'Antonio. It was a memorable stay in a lovely area with plenty to discover. The local people were friendly and welcoming, and proud to host visitors.

We had the place to ourselves for one night, with the keys to a former convent all to ourselves. It was wonderful 🤩. The building's been turned into a B&B while keeping its original layout and atmosphere, and it was an excellent choice.

The place is gorgeous, and the staff made us feel very welcome. The only downsides were a mattress that felt too soft and air conditioning that didn't work.
