Gian Paul Hotel

For a weekend stay, this little hotel was just right. Our room was spacious and clean, and although we first booked one with a shared bathroom, we were able to upgrade to one with a private bathroom. The staff were incredibly friendly. There’s a lovely little terrace up top where we watched the sunset over aperitivo.

I came away with some of my best memories from this hidden gem. Gian Paul's calm and charm surprised me so much that I asked Marilina if I could extend my stay from 3 to 10 nights. She was very cooperative and creative, and managed to arrange it even in the middle of the busy summer season. The second-floor rooms on the west side have beautiful sea views, especially at sunset. The hotel is only a few minutes' walk from the beaches, restaurants, grocery, bakery, and fruit stalls.

We felt very welcome and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owner was incredibly friendly and attentive, offering restaurant tips, arranging taxis, and even driving my wife to the train station. Breakfast had a healthy selection, including fresh fruit salad, freshly squeezed juices, focaccia, cheese, cold cuts, and Italian cakes. You can eat on the terrace or in the lovely pavilion. The main building’s rooms are modern, air-conditioned, and comfortable. The Gian Paul Hotel sits on a hill in Lavagna, with panoramic bay views from the rooftop terrace and excellent drinks and small snacks at the rooftop bar. A charming path takes about five minutes to reach the beach. During the day, cicadas add a Mediterranean feel, while nights are very quiet. There’s plenty of parking and an EV charging station.

It’s about a five-minute walk to the beach, and the terrace has a lovely view. The owner and receptionist were polite and friendly, and Anna was especially helpful and professional. The rooms are comfortable and stylish, simple but atmospheric, with everything you need. Breakfast was fresh, tasty, and had a good range of the things I like in the morning. The hotel feels authentic, like a little piece of real Italy where you can feel at home. Thank you for everything, Gian Paul!
