Abelia

Colà has a shop and a few good restaurants, and it’s a little away from the busy Garda coast. We were looking for a pleasant guesthouse with a good breakfast, and Villa Abelia suited us well as a middle-aged couple. Our room was clean and well-equipped, and the pool is regularly cleaned and topped up with saltwater. Mrs. Masconi and her husband are wonderful hosts. We had a very pleasant stay and would recommend the place to couples or families with children.

Colá is a quiet village near Lazise, with a good choice of restaurants and nice routes for walking or cycling. The hosts are very friendly, and there’s a spacious underground garage with an assigned spot for each vehicle. There are six beautiful rooms and three apartments. The lovingly furnished double rooms have a spa shower and a terrace with comfortable chairs and a table. Room service is provided during breakfast. When the weather’s good, breakfast is served under a pergola, and it’s generous. The pool is a good size with lots of sun loungers. Coffee, cappuccino, espresso, and other drinks are available all day from a large machine at reasonable prices.

The villa turned out to be the right choice. We can get out each day without having to deal with traffic jams all the time, and can mostly bypass them. It’s quiet and relaxing, beautifully furnished, and spotlessly clean. The owners are friendly and helpful. The bed matters a lot to me, and it was spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast on the terrace had everything we could need. We’d first considered staying in town by the beach, but we were glad we chose the villa.

It’s great to have an underground garage, with a dedicated space for each vehicle. The pool is very clean and well maintained, and bicycles are available to rent, though they aren’t electric. This is a small guesthouse run by the owners. The landlady speaks excellent German and is very dedicated, and she’s always available to answer questions. Breakfast is very good, but the cold cuts and cheeses are the same each day, so it feels quite monotonous. It’s nice to eat outside. What bothers me is that the owner waits in the morning to see when guests leave their rooms so they can be cleaned.
