Camping Du Parc

The nightly entertainment let the place down for us. It’s held in a dark grassy area near the beach, without much seating for parents or a bar, and seems aimed more at children under six from Italy or Germany. Aside from that, it’s a lovely, very clean site with good amenities.

The pool area was amazing, probably the best we’ve had across our many stays around Lake Garda. We could walk from our mobile home to Lazise town centre in seven minutes, even with a stroller, and the lakefront had great swimming spots and plenty of water activities. We’re a family of four with two young kids, and we enjoyed the stay overall. The mobile home could have used a kettle and toaster for a self-catering trip. One difficult part of the walk was the stretch along the lake before the paved path through the shrubs. It was very dark and covered in loose gravel, which made it hard to push the stroller and keep our other child from wandering toward the lake, even though the water was shallow. The site can’t fix that stretch, but it did affect our stay. Checking out left us very disappointed. We had to leave by 10am, and at 9.45, while we were still clearing the mobile home and waiting for help with our bags, the next family stood outside our decking and watched us. The woman kept checking her watch where we could see it. They stayed nearby as we packed, sitting on the decking of an empty mobile home opposite. The cleaners still needed to come in, and we still had the key. We felt pressured and uncomfortable while trying to shower and get dressed. We explained this to reception and weren’t happy with the response. We understand that early arrivals should be able to use facilities such as the pool, but they shouldn’t wait outside the mobile home of a family still checking out. The site says it guarantees the key to your mobile home before 4pm, so having people staring and parked outside our windows at 9.45 felt very poor. It put a sour end to a stay where we’d enjoyed everything else.

The entertainment team were so kind and engaging, and there was a great mix of activities for parents and kids. We loved the campsite and its excellent location. Compliments!

The accommodation was infested with cockroaches. After chemical treatments failed, we were offered another place for the night, but within half an hour we saw a cockroach there too. After ten days of going back and forth with management, we’d had enough and wanted to leave. They refused to refund the full remainder of our stay or offer any other compensation. Great camping, but in our case it was Cockroach Camping.
