B&B Gianmarti Suite

I travel a lot, and this is one of the best places I've stayed. The large, beautiful garden was lovely for breakfast or just lounging, and the breakfasts were generous and delicious. The staff gave me so much care and attention, and went out of their way to help on several occasions. The women running this place are amazing. The rooms were spacious, modern and clean, with everything I could need. The shower was heaven. It's also in a great spot, just a short walk from everything. I hope I can come back!

The rooms were comfortable and very clean, with everything you might need, including a coffee machine. The hosts were welcoming, breakfast was tasty, and there's a cute garden. Thank you ❤️

They even arranged laundry for us, and one day there was a plate of different cheeses and a nice wine in our room. The experience felt more like a highly rated hotel than a B&B. Highly recommended.

We booked a standard room through booking.com four months ahead. Since it was our anniversary, I asked Gianluca if we could have a nice room. He said there were only four rooms and we'd need to book a different one for an upgrade. The standard room looked fine, but he later offered us a discount on the best room, so we accepted and cancelled our other booking. We arranged everything over WhatsApp. My husband transferred the deposit right away and sent Gianluca the confirmation. After that, we heard nothing, and assumed they'd contact us if anything needed sorting. On our way to Lecce, I messaged Gianluca with our arrival time. That was when we learned there had apparently been a problem with the deposit and the manager had cancelled the booking because the balance hadn't been paid either. Nobody had told us. We would have dealt with it straight away if they had. After a string of WhatsApp messages, some of them rude, and a confusing voice note from Gianluca, we entered using the code we'd been given. Then we were told the proposed fix was to move between four different rooms during our one-week stay. We left the room immediately and explained how disruptive that would be for our anniversary trip. We were called ungrateful and told to accept the arrangement and pay the balance by the next morning, or find somewhere else. We couldn't face changing rooms four times. After the tense messages with Gianluca, we also wouldn't have felt comfortable there. Luckily, we found another B&B late on Sunday afternoon. Once we'd settled in, I messaged Gianluca that evening and received more rude and confusing replies. The rooms looked very nice, and the location was good, which makes it a shame. If someone had told us about the deposit problem and that full payment was required before arrival, we could have sorted it out. We travel often and try to write fair, honest reviews. This rating reflects what happened and how the B&B's poor communication upset our anniversary trip. I'd advise booking through a booking website. We may struggle to get our bank transfer deposit back, even though the hotel's lack of communication caused the problem.
