The location is quite good, but the hotel feels old, and the bed was too small for two people.

The staff were courteous, but the rest belongs on the HOTEL NIGHTMARE program. Everything is ancient and falling apart. I felt like I was showering with penguins in the bathroom, and the blankets seemed to have belonged to my great-grandmother. I paid very little, but honestly, I wouldn’t have paid even that.

We needed an inexpensive room near the train station so we could return the car, sleep, and continue by train, and for that it did the job. The room was tidy, and the bathroom was so bright I kept trying to switch off the light, but it wouldn’t turn off. You can hear trains at night. The Wi-Fi in our room only worked near the front door. Reception said something was broken and the repairman wasn’t on duty. They were out of city maps when I asked. Breakfast was coffee, cereal, cookies, water, and juice, so it won’t be enough if you like a big morning meal. For a longer stay in Lecce, I’d look for somewhere better.

The city centre is within walking distance, and the station is close without being a nuisance. It’s a decent, old-fashioned hotel for the price. The area has a noticeable immigrant population, as you’d expect around a station, but that was fine. If you need a week’s stay and don’t want to pay extra for “European design,” I’d recommend it.
