The bed was far less comfortable than we expected: although we were told it was custom-made and 2 meters long, it was actually 150 cm, pushed against the wall, and awkward for the second person to get in and out of. The nylon sheets didn’t help. There was just one coat hanger, the heat pump was loud and slow to warm the place, and hot water barely covered one shower, even a short one. The bathroom cleaning was poor, including a disgusting toilet brush. On arrival, there was no sign, name, or required identification number (CIN), only a box for collecting the keys. For check-in, a stranger handled things, and our document details were sent by text, so they could have been made up. The owner never contacted us or showed up during our three days there. I raised all this directly with the owner because I don’t like going behind someone’s back, but got no reply. You can decide for yourself whether to stay.

Street parking right below the apartment was easy, and we found supermarkets, bars, and restaurants close by. The owners were friendly and available if anything came up. It’s a new place with every comfort, and a handy base for exploring Lecce’s center and the main towns around Salento. We hope to come back soon.

The flat has a terrace, a nice bathroom, and is well equipped. There are shops nearby, plus an excellent seafood restaurant right at the entrance. It’s about 25 minutes from the city center, though parking takes some effort and means looking on the side streets. The stone covering on the wall beside the bed isn’t great for whoever sleeps on that side.

Good value for the price. The apartment was clean, with new interior fittings and a spacious bathroom. You can park for free on the street below the house.
