I Ruscioli

We felt right at home, thanks to the pleasant, discreet staff, and the week was good value. The property is beautiful, quiet, and well kept, with a lovely pool that isn’t heated. It’s around 15 minutes from Lecce and 10 minutes from the seafront, with free parking right outside. Our room was basic but had a decent bed, wardrobe, fridge, and air conditioning. The bathroom could use attention: the shower was small and a bit old, and the rest wasn’t in very good condition. Breakfast was included, with a croissant, local pastries, butter, jam, orange juice, and more. Maybe because it was off-season, it wasn’t homemade and the options were limited. Fruit and savory food were available only about half the time. Lunch costs €15-20 per person and dinner €25 per person.

The pool was lovely and clean, with loungers and umbrellas on a wide green lawn among fruit trees. Our room was clean and air-conditioned, and meals for lunch or dinner can be made if you ask in advance. Breakfast was always available, and Daniela gave us a fantastic welcome, making coffee and laying out the buffet. Ornella was on hand for our requests, and when we arrived very early on the first day, tired from the trip, she arranged our accommodation right away. It’s a peaceful place for a holiday, but there’s nothing around the masseria, so you’ll need a car for attractions. The beaches are about 7 minutes away and Lecce about 15.

The rooms were clean and spacious, and the pool was nice and deep. Breakfast was plentiful, with lunch and dinner available on request, and the staff were very helpful. There’s a play area for children, and the new property is well placed for visiting Lecce, about 15 minutes away, and the rest of Salento. It’s quiet and enclosed by a fence that’s shut at night. A couple of drawbacks: reception is often empty and calls go unanswered, and the parking has no shade.

The service and friendliness left a lot to be desired. Hot water wasn’t always available, towels weren’t changed, and there’s no bar service during the day. The bar is handled by the same person who cleans the rooms. The property itself is very nice, with well-kept nature around it and a pool facing the sunset.
