Lobby Collective gets 8/10 from me. The garden is huge, both in front and behind, and there's a clothesline on the terrace. It was too hot to enjoy the gardens when I visited, but they'd be lovely in cooler weather. They offer lots of useful suggestions, public transport maps, and things to rent, like bikes, cars, tents, and beach umbrellas. The kitchen only opens at 7am, and you can only take food from the fridge or drawers without preparing or cooking it between 11am-2pm and 6pm-10pm. That schedule was a real nuisance for me: I left the hostel every day at 4-5am, and on my last day I had to take a later train just so I could keep my dairy in the fridge overnight. It would help to have a separate small fridge for guests who leave before 7am. I got a few mosquito bites because none of the windows I saw had screens, and some doors, like the terrace door, are left open all the time. Showers also leave the bathroom flooded because of the door design and the lack of a towel mat. A mop or mat would help. There's a button to ask staff to clean it, but being more proactive would make sense. I like that the hostel takes recycling seriously, but I never saw a regular rubbish bin for things that can't be recycled. Putting non-recyclable PET in the organic bin contaminates it and defeats its purpose, even though I understand that guests might misuse a general bin or not know how to sort things. The outdoor gate plays Verdi’s La Traviata every time it opens. It was cute the first time, but you can hear it at night even through closed shutters and sealed windows with earplugs in, and it gets annoying fast.

The staff are amazing, and the place has a good atmosphere for meeting people. The rooms are spacious, and it feels like you can settle in and feel at home. I'd definitely recommend it and book again.

The staff were the highlight for me: friendly, full of good recommendations, and able to speak a range of languages. The hostel was spotless, with staff cleaning every day. Hot water in the showers held up, unlike at some hostels I've stayed in. The kitchen had everything for making a meal, from pots and pans to a wine opener, oil, salt, and spices. I also liked the library for reading or getting work done. I booked two nights at first, then liked it so much I added two more. It's about a 30-minute walk to the train station or old town, which suited me as a solo traveller who didn't mind being a bit away from the tourist crowd. There's a grocery store across the street and pizzerias, a bakery, and restaurants a few blocks away. If I'm back in Lecce, I'll stay here again. Lobby Collective Hostel set a high bar, and it's my favourite hostel in Italy. Grazie!

Alessio was so kind, even helping with a wound on my foot when I needed a bandage 😆. The hostel was clean, the rooms had AC, and it's close to a great pizza place and a coffee and pastry shop. It's outside the busy centre, but still an easy 15-minute walk away. A good place to stay in Lecce.

The backyard lighting was magical, and the whole place had style, with carefully thought-out facilities and hardly a detail missed. The instructions were clear, and the volunteers did a very thorough job cleaning. This was our second hostel in Lecce, and only our second hostel stay ever. Cika&Alessio at reception were wonderful. As we say, if it doesn't happen twice, it happens a third time 😁😁😁.
