Palazzo San Lazzaro Rooms & Suites

The suite was decent for an affordable price, and I loved the architecture, especially the ceilings. The housekeeper was lovely and happy to help. The room was clean, the area quiet, and we managed to arrange luggage storage for our last day. It's a 15-minute walk to the centre of Leece. There were a couple of downsides: no iron was provided when I asked, and I was questioned when I requested more toilet roll. They also pre-authorised a €200 security deposit.

The rooms were clean, but there were few amenities. I wish they'd provide better soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotions, along with some other guest treats. They can also arrange a comprehensive events package. It's fine for two days, but I wouldn't plan a whole vacation around it.

The hotel itself was totally fine and overall a good stay. Our rooms were clean and had AC, but there was no Wi-Fi for any of our three days. When we asked, they said they'd contacted the provider, who was on vacation for a national holiday. We were very of this, though it was still disappointing. Luckily, we had cell service. Be cautious about the activities they recommend. One was a cooking class with a chef who is friends with a hotel employee. It cost 95 dollars per person, and all they served was a plate of tomato sauce pasta, with no dessert or anything else. The class itself was fun, but at that price it felt like a scam. The worst part was how we were treated and misled. Palazzo first promised a penalty-free refund and told us to cancel the reservation, but after we did and found somewhere else to stay, they changed their mind and refused to return the money. That felt dishonest and unreliable, taking advantage of our good faith. We'd booked a room with a jacuzzi, but as soon as we entered, there was an intense damp, moldy smell. We contacted the property to complain and ask for a solution. They had no other room with a jacuzzi and suggested running the air conditioning to dry this one. After an hour the smell was still there, including in the bathroom, which had no air conditioning, so we contacted them again. The photos showed a bright room, but in reality it was depressing. I hope you don't run into the same horrible issue.
