I can’t really comment on the rooms because, although we had booked, our reservation was cancelled the night before we were due to stay. Nobody replied to our messages, and we couldn’t get anyone on the phone. I can’t recommend it, unless you’re okay with the chance of being left without a place to stay at short notice.

We booked this B&B for its lovely terrace, where breakfast was supposed to be served, and the free parking. On arrival we found out neither was available: the terrace was closed, there was no breakfast, and parking wasn’t provided. Nobody had told us beforehand. The manager offered 5 Euro off per night, or 2,50 per person, and pointed us to a street she said had free parking. Not every space there was free, though, and we drove around the city several times before finding a spot. The apartment was dark and noisy. On the plus side, it was clean and well equipped, and the location in the historic center is very good.

The staff were so friendly and made our stay. We were right in Lecce’s old town, with the bus just 50m away and the train 800m away, handy for reaching the surrounding area and beaches.

Breakfast at Caffe della Lupa was good and varied, with traditional Lecce pasticciotti. The B&B is well looked after, and the staff are attentive and friendly. It overlooks what I think is Lecce’s most beautiful square, a fantastic location. I’ll definitely come back. My only suggestion is to add a bathroom courtesy kit, since there was nothing there apart from paper and towels.
