Tenuta Monacelli

The rooms were beautiful, and breakfast was very good. Staff were so friendly and helpful in every way. It's a lovely remote hotel where you can really relax, with a beautiful pool surrounded by olive gardens that are kept in perfect shape.

The historic location was beautiful, but the stay was a huge disappointment and felt like a waste of money. The prices were exorbitant and not justified. Furnishings were ugly and dated, and the rooms were uncomfortable and poorly equipped, without even basic amenities. Breakfast was so disappointing it wouldn't have been acceptable at a 2-star hotel.

The location was nice, and the staff were genuinely friendly, especially at breakfast. Still, several things fell short. There were no umbrellas by the pool, so we couldn't use it. The restaurant food seemed too expensive to me, and there weren't other options nearby. Bathrooms were small and poorly equipped, and the mattresses were too hard for me. We stayed four nights over the weekend, and there were large wedding celebrations on three of them. Disappointing.

The people are what won us over. Everyone was warm and helpful with suggestions for places to visit and what to order. Serena helped us plan our days and made sure we had an exquisite experience. When I mentioned I would be washing my hair, she even brought me hair product. We met Giacomo on the first day, then he was away, but on our last day he asked what we'd seen and shared fascinating historical details about the places we'd visited. Their warmth was amazing. The property's architecture is beautiful, and the rooms reflect it, mixing modern and rustic touches with good appointments. The location is beautiful too, about 15 min from Lecce and convenient for nearby beaches and small towns. Great experience at Tenuta Monacelli in Lecce. Definitely visit!
