My single economy room was modest in size, but it had everything I needed, including a desk and bathroom, and it was clean and cozy. The staff were extremely gentle and even helped me with my luggage when I was travelling alone. It's a lovely place near politecnico, close to the centre and right by the lake.

A charming chalet-style hotel overlooking Lake como, set in a tree-filled piazza with busy restaurants. The pedestrian and bicycle path into town runs alongside it. A friendly, hardworking couple run the place, and the service was great. It's clean, with rooms that have terraces and a buffet breakfast in the piazza. There are also amenities for babies and children, so it works well for families. Highly recommend!

The owners work hard and are very friendly, and the hotel is kept really clean. It's on the lake in a small, quiet piazza, with fantastic restaurants nearby. The atmosphere feels warm and classic, and the fresh breakfast is filling. You can walk about 10 minutes into the town centre, or take the path along the lake north to Lecco esplanade and south to Milan. Amazing supermarket Esselungo is a quick walk away.

The couple who run Hotel Don Abbondio were so welcoming and helpful. When I had to see a doctor one evening for an eye problem that looked nasty but wasn't serious, they gave me a lot of support. The hotel is a comfortable, quiet and secluded Italian family place on the river bank, about a 20-minute walk along the river path to the main town centre. Breakfast each morning was fresh and plentiful, with bread, ham and cold meat, yoghurt, boiled eggs, cheese, and other basics. I'd happily recommend it.

The people running this place made our stay. The owners treated us like family, gave us their personal parking spot when the lot was full, told us where to visit and how to get there, and even brought me gelato when my family and I came in late one night. The staff were all so loving, caring, and accommodating that I honestly thought of them as family. My dad is 60 and travels the world, but said he'd never had service this good. I've stayed in five-star hotels myself and haven't experienced anything like it. Our room was a good size and very clean, with a cute balcony, an amazing view, and a beautiful bathroom. Breakfast had a great selection and was fresh. If I could give more than five stars, I would. I'll be back and would recommend it to anyone!
