It was okay.

The biggest problem came when flushing the toilet caused waste to come up through the shower. The toilet macerator pump wasn't working properly. By then, I'd already spent two nights there, and my vacation week was ruined. I asked the owner whether he could move me to another room or offer a solution. Calmly, he said no, and that he'd see if he could find someone, since it was August. He still charged me for both nights, which made things even worse. The photos don't match what you find there. The room is run-down: the shower is coming off the wall, the toilet seat is broken, the air conditioning and refrigerator seem to date from the 1990s, and the fridge seal is so dry it won't close. The windows shake when the door to the other room is shut, and the view is of a balcony being used for storage. The TV is awkwardly mounted on the side wall and uncomfortable to watch. Cleaning staff pull up the sheets but don't sweep the floor. It's awful to have your holiday spoiled when you're 2,000 km from home in August, with no idea where else to go except home. They show old photos, including pools that aren't there, and pictures made to look better by good photographers, then leave guests in a dilapidated place. Thank you.

I hate leaving a bad review, but the photos have almost nothing to do with the place. It's run-down, things are falling apart, and outside the window there's a heap of junk, including an old washing machine, tables, and broken stuff. How can they leave it like that? The mattress was really uncomfortable. Even the windows make a racket when someone else in the building opens or closes a door. Who knows?

The host was accommodating and ready to help with any requests, and the place itself was quiet. It's well located for beaches and places to eat. Taranto is less than half an hour away, with lively nightlife and the Aragonese Castle to visit.
