The focaccia was good, but lunch at the bar involved far too much waiting. We waited around 20 minutes to order two alcohol-free beers and two focaccias, then 15 more for the drinks. One beer turned out to contain alcohol, so we had to send it back. The focaccia took another 30 minutes. The beer was warm and clearly hadn’t come from a fridge, and no discount was offered after such a poor experience.

The sea-facing rooms have a view worth a thousand stars, which more than makes up for the albergo’s one-star classification. Cocktails and coffee were great, and the service was super friendly. A real gem.

We came near the end of September, when the season was almost over, but Albergo delle Ondine still seemed like the liveliest spot in the village. It’s run by Matteo and his wife, just the two of them, and they’ve created a really lovely atmosphere. My boyfriend and I stayed four nights and absolutely loved it. We’d be happy to come back.
