Casale Praia

The rooms were clean, and breakfast was great. The service was excellent, and we got some great tips on sights to see.

We stayed over Easter weekend and found a peaceful little oasis surrounded by greenery, just steps from Taormina. The owner was incredibly sweet and helpful. Our room was like a small suite and had everything we needed. I hope we can come back soon.

We shortened our planned four-night stay after arriving and finding the place disappointing. Caterina had told us the air conditioning was broken, so we knew we'd only have a fan, and she gave us a discount for that. The room was in the basement of an old farm building, though the photos gave the impression of being up in the mountains surrounded by nature. In reality, it's beside a main road and what looked like an industrial construction zone. There was a strong damp smell when we came back in the evening and again in the morning, and the room seemed to have a serious ventilation problem. Wi-Fi was listed with a code, but the signal in the room was so poor we couldn't connect at all. The website also says breakfast is included, but it wasn't. Brita, Caterina's mother, welcomed us warmly and was kind, and we thank her for that. Maybe the room would have been different with working air conditioning.

Mrs. Brita gave us a warm welcome and plenty of suggestions for places to see around Taormina. The property is surrounded by greenery, in a convenient spot just 5 minutes from Isola Bella, and the rooms were comfortable and well-heated, away from the city's bustle and tourist crowds. Breakfast was plentiful and very fresh, and we enjoyed having the option to eat it on the terrace. It was a truly welcoming place and an excellent experience. Highly recommended, you won't regret it!
