Fondaco Parrino Mare

Giuseppe and Nunzia, who own the apartments and live nearby, are wonderfully generous and kind hosts. We loved our time at Fondaco Parrino and would come back as soon as we can. The quiet little beach was often almost entirely ours. There was plenty of sunshine, and the sound of waves brought a bit of cool during the heat of the day. From the spacious terrace we watched boats and ships offshore, divers searching among the rocks, and, after dark, their lights sweeping across the sea. The apartment was compact, spotless and set up well for everyday life. It had air conditioning, a well equipped kitchen and a good shower room, along with lovely old country furniture and charming Sicilian lace on the bedlinen. Having private parking is a real advantage if you rent a car, since many hotels down the coast leave guests to park beside the busy road. There's also a good bus service a five minute walk away, with routes to Sant' Alessio, Letojanni, Forza d'Agró, Taormina and Giardini Naxos. Those towns and villages have restaurants and cafés for different budgets, plenty of shopping, and a rich mix of cultures and history. I especially loved the ceramics. We absolutely loved this place and have no hesitation recommending it.
