The apartment is modest, but it has a sea view and the basics you need, even a hair dryer and ironing machine. Communication with Maria and Marilena was excellent. A couple of things to know: street parking in the blue spaces is free except in August, though it’s best to double check. Finding a space can be difficult. There is private parking, but it’s tricky, so check with the owner. Many people park right outside without permission. The windows don’t block much noise, so you can hear everything at night, especially on weekends. Earplugs may help.

Polifemo is right on the seafront, across from Lido Blue Sea, where you can rent umbrellas with 2 sun loungers. The accommodation is on the 2nd floor and has plenty of space: a bedroom with a double bed, plus an open-plan kitchen and living room with 2 sofas that can sleep 2 children, even older ones, since they’re normal single beds. There’s a hob, oven, fridge, and a boiler for hot water in the bathroom. I was there in mid-June, when people were already swimming and going to the beach, though the water was a little cold. The building’s layout comes with some downsides. The walls are very thin, so you can hear neighbors in adjoining rooms, on balconies, and in the stairwell. That can be disruptive if neighbors have friends over or small children. The bathroom could use a holder for shower gel or shampoo, and the ceiling needs repair.
