Selca Case Vacanze

The location is the only part of Selca Case Vacanze that matched its description. I hate giving one star, but after traveling a lot with my family and for work, this was an experience I have never had before. It was advertised as a welcoming, central, minimalist place for a seaside holiday in a strategic part of Sicily. The apartments were shown as independent sea-view homes suitable for families of four or six, depending on the size. In reality, ours was in a tiny alley, with one entrance inside the apartment below, and the balconies opposite each other were so close that I could nearly touch our neighbor's hand while talking to her. The apartment needed a full service, and the bedroom had only a small window. Wi-Fi was out for half our stay; when it came back, it couldn't even load a weather report. The air conditioning barely worked despite being left on, and its external motor was badly rusted, looked dangerous, and leaked water. There was one split unit inside. The TV had no signal either. After a four-hour trip, we couldn't even wash our hands when we arrived. There was no small cleaning kit, just about a quarter of a 250 ml bottle of dish soap, and the bathroom had only two rolls of toilet paper. The washing machine was there, but the kitchen was dirty, with oil splashes on the counter. The fridge was dirty and covered in condensation inside. We had three glasses and one cooking lid. The water heater only made the water lukewarm, and it turned cold as soon as we started using it. With four of us there for a week, showers were hardly relaxing. The shower tray was broken, the bathroom was generally dirty, and the toilet needed half an hour before it would flush again. The sofa bed was meant for two, but was barely 1.50 m long. At 1.75 m, my feet stuck out. Half the springs were broken and sank when you sat down, while the other half felt like stone. Its cover was dirty and the sofa was torn. We also had to deal with the owners' rudeness, ignorance, and lies. When we reported the problems on day one, they asked, “What did you expect?” They offered no help and blamed the agency that sent us to this “resort.” They talked over us even when we asked a simple question. I strongly recommend staying away.
