Agriturismo Costa di Faraggiana

The shuttle into downtown Levanto was so convenient, and the boat tour was one of the highlights of our vacation. This family-run place really looks after its guests. We had an amazing stay at Costa di Faraggiana. The rooms were clean, beautiful, and cozy, and breakfast was fresh and delicious. We highly recommend it.

We especially appreciated how kindly the family treated our daughters. From the moment we arrived, they made all of us feel welcome and comfortable, and we’re grateful for how much care they put into making our stay memorable. The wellness facilities were great for relaxing: we enjoyed the pool, Whirlpool, steam bath, and sauna. Beds were very comfortable, so we slept well each night. Breakfast was delicious, with fresh local ingredients, and the location made it easy to get into town and find outdoor activities. The shuttle into the city worked perfectly too. Everything about the stay felt just right, and we hope to come back soon. We’d recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a lovely experience.

We wanted somewhere quieter on the coast near Cinque Terre, and this was just right. The staff were polite, personable, and worked hard to accommodate everyone. They made us feel at home and welcome throughout our stay. We’ll really miss seeing them each day.

The whole experience left us feeling sad and unwelcome, and cast a shadow over our stay from the start. We’d driven nearly 17 hours from Poland and arrived exhausted but still hopeful of a warm welcome. We were about three hours early for check-in. We didn’t ask to check in early or expect anything special, only asked if we could wait in the shade somewhere on the hotel grounds until the proper time. Instead, the staff, who I think included the owner, firmly repeated that check-in was at 2 p.m. and told us to leave so we wouldn’t disturb other guests. Their only suggestion was to wait in town. It was market day, there was no parking, and they hadn’t warned us. We spent 20 to 30 minutes driving around in the summer heat before finding a spot far away. After such a long drive, walking back through the heat wasn’t possible. We mentioned the incident in our Booking.com review, hoping for a constructive response. Instead, the hotel was defensive and accusatory. They blamed us for not enjoying the town or bars, although parking problems had stopped us, and said we hadn’t given them a chance to offer a shuttle. We don’t understand that claim, since no one offered one. They had time to do so but chose to repeat the check-in time in an unfriendly tone. Later they continued to insist we’d tried to check in early, which isn’t true. We’d only asked to wait peacefully nearby, a small kindness we’d expect from most hotels, especially at this price and level. We honestly wished we could leave after being treated so coldly and then reading that reply. It spoiled the feeling of arriving and left a heavy impression on the whole stay. We regret giving a 7 out of 10 on Booking. We tried to be polite and give them the benefit of the doubt, but after their response even that rating feels far too generous. This happened last September. We couldn’t write about it sooner, but wanted to share the full story so others can decide for themselves whether to stay, especially if they value genuine hospitality and basic human decency.
