Parc Hotel Du Lac

The wellness area and lake were both great, and there's plenty of hiking and biking nearby. We also had clean, spacious rooms, friendly staff, and a great restaurant and breakfast. Highly recommend this hotel!

We had a great time on our third visit, this time with our 2 year old grandson. He loved the slides and pool, and the pool and lake area were very clean. Booking sunbeds in advance meant we could choose where we wanted to be, with no scramble for space. The evening reception bar man was especially helpful and remembered our order every night. All the staff greeted us with smiles, even if they didn't speak our language. We stayed in an Alpine family suite and a deluxe room on the mezzanine near reception. Both were great, very clean, with good air conditioning and comfortable beds. The lake view is probably better from the higher floors, but we liked being close to the playroom. We used all the excellent facilities except the spa. Breakfast was very good, with lots of choice, and we were seated quickly. The breakfast manager even remembered us from our last stay five years ago. We ate at the Taverna most evenings. We prefer that to half board because we like having lots of choice. The service was excellent again, and the food delicious. It was nice seeing staff from earlier visits. We're already looking at dates to return next year.

The hotel's best feature is its position by the lake. There's lots of grassy space to spread out, plus table tennis, kayaking, paddle boarding, an electric boat and a pedalo, all for an extra charge. Kids have a play area with swings and a slide, and there's an indoor and outdoor pool and a spa. A beautiful place, and a great hotel. It's also very family-friendly. The rooms are spacious, air-conditioned and have great lake views. The restaurant is nice, and the staff are friendly.

Our stay at Parc Hotel Du Lac was completely spoiled by service that was ruder and more arrogant than any I've come across. The breakfast hostess either ignored guests or shouted at them. The older receptionist seemed to have perfected being an unhelpful jerk, all with a big smile and a cheerful voice. It might have been funny if it weren't so annoying :D We had a nice family suite, but the bed was uncomfortable. The lake is beautiful, and the hotel could be great with different management. EDIT: The hotel has already replied to my wife's review saying we couldn't have stayed there. That seems to be how they handle all negative reviews. Just shameful.
