A nice historic building in a good location, and the price felt fair for what we got. Breakfast was okay. One of the beds had a mattress that sagged a little.
The coffee break was wonderful, with lots of tasty choices and a staff member there to help guests. We also enjoyed the vintage building and the mountain and lake views from the window. The manager who welcomed us was very polite and spoke perfect English, which made communication easy. They were open during the Liberty of Italy Holiday too, so they seem consistent as a hotel. Amazing experience, I’d highly recommend staying here.
The location is a real plus, just a couple of minutes on foot from a really cute town, with nice restaurants nearby and Trento about a 20-minute drive away. The rooms aren't soundproof, so we kept hearing people talking and walking. The decor feels stuck in the 1960s, and the sauna and spa were cold and didn't work very well. Breakfast was a bit sad, with only a few options. Not great, not terrible.
We paid 20 euros per person to use the spa, but there was no soap in either the showers or toilets. That felt unhygienic for people using the sauna, and telling the staff didn't seem to help. Breakfast on day three had run out of bacon and eggs with more than an hour left. Our first room was 409. It was 40 degrees Celsius inside with stale air, which was understandable in the hot weather. Reception said the AC only moved air, though the booking page said otherwise. I asked to cancel, then another employee stepped in and turned it on. After dinner, condensation had left the floor wet, which may explain why they hadn't turned it on at first. I woke up with an unusually bad headache, probably from dampness or mold. On the second day an employee had another room ready, so they seemed to know there was a problem. That room was fine, but its AC was set to 25 degrees. Even after I asked twice for 20, nobody changed it. With thick duvets, it was too hot to sleep with the window shut, so we left it open through a thunderstorm while it was 18 degrees outside. I've stayed at plenty of hotels, but I've never been so relieved to check out.
