B&B Cherry En Rose

Every morning Linda put out a generous, delicious breakfast, and her hospitality made the B&B feel like a family home. That’s what made this my most memorable B&B stay. The location is handy too: a two-minute walk down the hill gets you to a bus for Bellagio or Como, and Lezzano has some nice restaurants and spots for lake views. The view from the B&B is one of those instant wow moments, and our room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. If I could give ten stars, I would.

We slept so well on our first days in Italy, and the room was clean and really comfortable, with a fantastic lake view from the balcony. Cherry En Rose is tucked into a quiet part of Lezzeno, away from the crowds in Bellagio and Varenna, but a short ferry ride takes you to the villages. The bus and ferry are walkable, as are a few restaurants and a little market. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, and Linda and her parents were gracious and helpful hosts. It was lovely returning to a peaceful place after a busy day. We hope to come back.

The room was tidy and had a lovely balcony view, and the pool looks out over Lake Como. Cherry En Rose is in a handy spot between Como and Bellagio: the bus stop is about a five-minute walk, the ferry port about ten, and some very nice restaurants are another five to ten minutes away, each with its own feel. Breakfast was made with care and had plenty of vegetarian choices. Luigi and Linda welcomed us warmly and were wonderful hosts. There are also fabulous hiking trails up into the higher areas, a nice extra for walkers. We had a relaxing stay and would definitely plan to return to Cherry En Rose. Thank you, Luigi and Linda!

Linda was so kind and quick to help with my questions about ferries and getting around. From Milan, I’d suggest Como San Giovanni over Como Lago, since the C30 bus is hard to find at Como Lago. There’s a bus stop near the B&B, and getting to Bellagio was easy, though buses can be hot and crowded in summer. The C30 back to Como didn’t stick to its schedule, so driving might be easier. That’s just a transport issue, not the B&B’s fault. The ferry is an easy 15-minute walk and gets you to Lenno and Tremezzo in no more than 20 minutes. There’s no air conditioning, but Linda gave us a great fan, so it wasn’t a big issue. The entrance has stairs, and the whole town has slopes and steps, so bear that in mind and bring good shoes. Our huge ground-floor double room, Venere, was very clean and had an incredible balcony for photos. Breakfast was homemade and delicious, with the feeling of being welcomed into an Italian family. On my birthday, they sang to me over the breakfast cakes, with a candle. It was such a heartwarming memory. Lezzeno is beautiful and much less crowded than the other towns, and the local restaurants are good and well priced. Try hotel aurora, but book ahead. Thank you, Linda!
