B&B Licata

I had a lovely stay at Hotel B&B Eugenio last August and would happily return. The idyllic setting and beautiful views were part of what made the holiday so enjoyable, along with the warm welcome and the staff's kindness and helpfulness. It felt family-friendly while still respecting my habits. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a seaside holiday. A heartfelt thank you, and goodbye! Laura Oliveri

I stayed in a camper, so I can't say anything about the rooms. But I did get to experience the beach in front of the B&B, and it was beautiful.

The sea was clean, though it gets a bit windy and rough, especially in the afternoon. The kids had great fun with it. The villa is beautiful, clean and well kept, with direct access to the sea, and the owners were friendly and helpful. Waste management is the one downside if you choose the apartment or camping option, but it just takes a bit of organization. We’d do it again.

The location is beautiful and only steps from a splendid sea, though it is a little isolated. Our room was nowhere near big enough for the five of us, including two children. We booked four nights in January, but there wasn't even space for a suitcase. There was no privacy either: it adjoined another room and was separated from it by what looked like plywood, with a veranda (?) involved. The photos and descriptions of the accommodation are misleading. It was run down and not at all suitable. I won't get into the details of the dishes, walls or bathroom fixtures. We arrived after staying at B&Bs of a completely different standard, and spent only a few hours there, not a single night. Sad news forced us to rush back to Palermo to set sail and go home, cutting our vacation short. We didn't expect the owner to return the €120.00 deposit we'd paid in January, but she also demanded the same amount as, in her words, “compensation for damages.” In normal circumstances, we wouldn't have stayed a night and would have turned around to find somewhere more respectable. With heavy hearts over the news we'd received, we went along with the owner's request, mistakenly, and didn't even get a receipt. We cancelled our final two planned stops in Sicily, and both places promptly refunded our deposits despite not being obliged to. Make up your own mind about the management. It's a real shame, because the place and Sicily itself are truly worth visiting.
