A cheerful dog made breakfast and reading with a book even nicer 🐶🥰 The house was peaceful and tidy, furnished to a high standard with fashionable finishes and care in every detail. After escaping the crowds in Palermo, we couldn't have picked a better place 😍 The owner was always smiling, very friendly, and ready to help. Highly recommend!

The accommodation was okay, and the beach is 200m away. For a beach holiday, that works, but otherwise there isn't much to do. The kitchen is shared with a second accommodation. One warning: the landlord invited us to dinner, then charged €85 for the two of us.

Breakfast was a lovely start to the day, with traditional sweets chosen from local pastry shops and nearby monasteries, plus fresh figs from the garden. The house itself is comfortable and decorated in Sicilian style, with lots of hand-painted details by the owner's talented daughter. The kitchen has what you need, and everyday supplies are replenished. Outside, there are tables, stone seats, and loungers on the patio. I never took photos because I was too busy enjoying it. Totò made the stay especially warm. He was always smiling, attentive to us and the other guests, and organized musical evenings, aperitifs, and dinners for anyone who wanted to join. He also tells the story of the place, and his recommendations for Sicilian spots often come with personal anecdotes. The house sits right on the little square in Torre di Gaffe, a charming seaside village. The sea is only a short walk away, while Licata's beaches are a quick drive: Pisciotto and its "piscine" area and La Rocca are nearest, with Mollarella, Cala del Re, and Poliscia also easy to reach. At nearby Lido La Sorgente, you can have a delicious seafood lunch at very reasonable prices, with a beautiful view over the cove. They cook from that morning's fish market based on bookings, so reserve ahead. Licata is about a 10-minute drive away. We enjoyed its old town's narrow streets and marina. The property is right by State Road 115, which makes visiting the Valley of the Temples, Agrigento, and other nearby places convenient. Check local event listings too. We spent three evenings in Campobello di Licata, including a ride on a Sicilian cart during the Festa della Rietina. Don't miss it if you're there around mid-August. The feast of the patron saint Sant'Angelo, on the Sunday after Ferragosto, was another wonderful event, full of folklore and traditions. The thoughtful details made the stay memorable. We felt at home here. Salvatore greeted us so warmly, and the rooms were spacious and well cared for. There are two rooms with separate entrances and a shared kitchen between them, a great setup for the four of us. The little village is only a few steps from a lovely beach, with several places to visit nearby. Definitely worth seeing.
