Friendly service, clean rooms and a central spot. You can get around on foot without needing a car.

It’s about a twenty-minute walk to the beach. The property is only steps from the town’s main square, and the owner is friendly and easy to talk to. The cozy room has a bed, TV and bathroom, plus a small balcony for hanging clothes.

For what you get, it’s expensive. The room was small, and the shower’s hot water ran out fast. There were three of us, so the last person had to shower in cold water.

I came expecting what the name Bed and Breakfast suggests, but the bed and room weren’t comfortable or cozy. The place felt old-fashioned, with no real effort to make it welcoming. Breakfast was a card saying “coffee and croissant,” then you had to go to a bar. If the one across the street was closed, you were told to walk farther to another one. In Italy I’ve had homemade cakes, fresh fruit and local products at places like this, but not here. I got the impression the owner, who I think is an architect, was supplementing his income by using his great-grandmother’s rooms and a few cards.
