Hotel Meublé Nazionale

We booked a three-star stay after a colleague recommended the hotel, and at first we got a good impression. The staff were kind and helpful. Our beach sunbeds and umbrellas were included, with reception giving us a coupon for our spot about five minutes away on foot. There were lots of free bikes too, which made it easy to explore Lignano’s other beaches. We even rode one to a restaurant on our last day. When a family with a crying baby moved into the next room after three days, the woman in charge understood our concern and changed us to a three-person room as soon as we asked. Breakfast was limited but enough. Because of Covid, you had to ask for each item instead of serving yourself from a buffet. One morning an omelet took about 30 minutes, but it did arrive in the end. There’s also a nice rooftop terrace with a jacuzzi. In Lignano we found two really nice restaurants, Sandrocchio and LA croche del Sud, which we can warmly recommend. We had parking at the hotel, though I think it works on a first-come, first-served basis, so it may depend on your luck. I have to lower my rating, though. Over our five nights, I couldn’t sleep properly on four of them because the walls were so thin I could hear people having an ordinary conversation in the next room. It was the same in both rooms we stayed in.
