Villa Beethoven

The location was good, the layout worked well, and the furnishings were adequate. But the apartment was filthy when we arrived, and that made for a terrible start. We picked up the keys from an agency where parking was difficult, starting at 11:00 AM. We got to the apartment at 11:30 and found dirty floors, beds, shower, and more. The fridge had been defrosted and left open, wet and full of ice. We couldn't move in. The agency just said someone would come in the afternoon. A cleaner finally arrived around 5:00 PM, so until then we couldn't even put our suitcases and bags down on the floor. The agency had offered us the chance to arrive a day early because the apartment would otherwise be empty, but we declined. We ordered a baby cot for €30 for six nights. It was old, unattractive, and had torn fabric. Each room had two beds, fairly comfortable mattresses, a sheet, a thin pillow, and a wardrobe. There's also a sofa bed in the dining/living room, but I wouldn't sleep there because the air conditioning blows straight at it. The apartment is meant for eight people, yet the dining table and chairs only seat six. The furnishings were otherwise adequate. The kitchen has a fridge with freezer compartment, gas stove, microwave, coffee maker, and plenty of cups, cutlery, pots, pans, and plates, but no small spoons. Outside there's a garden with a table and five chairs, plus lots of parking. The beach is a short, pleasantly shaded walk across a main road. The apartment comes with a parasol, two loungers, and a chair on the beach; you need to pay for and reserve any more, definitely ahead of time since they're always booked. Shops are a few minutes away on foot. It would be fine for six people if the cleaning happened before guests arrived. The walls were covered in dead mosquitoes. The hot water boiler only had enough for six showers before it went ice cold. Photos will be taken on arrival, though we'd already put out the toast and other things shortly beforehand.
