Camping Park Garda

There’s no quiet period here. Cars can come and go through the campsite whenever people like, and at 7 or 8 in the morning the garbage machine makes a terrible racket between the pitches. The laundry machine is old, too. It takes detergent from a box, so I couldn’t use my own, and there are only two or three programs with no way to choose the temperature or spin speed.

The facilities didn’t come close to what we expected for a four-star site, especially for the price. We’ve stayed at several three-star places with more and better facilities, and this was the most expensive site we’ve paid for so far. It didn’t feel worth the money. We booked because breakfast was included, but it wasn’t provided and nobody told us. The price stayed the same. We were also promised a parking space by the mobile home, but had to leave the car down by the lake instead. The pool was shabby, with missing tiles in several spots that could cut you. The loungers were dirty and damp, and the parasols were cracked and broken. In the mobile home, water pressure was almost nonexistent: using water in one place cut it off somewhere else. We could use no more than two burners on the hob. Staff struggled to communicate in English, which made it hard to order a pizza, even asking for salami that wasn’t spicy. With no playground on site, children used the toilet block as a play area, causing a lot of disturbance for those of us living close to or above it. Regards, Anja and Ulrik

We’re Brits travelling in a motorhome. The lake pitch gave us a fantastic view, and getting down the winding slopes was fairly easy. The showers were sometimes cold, though, and I wish the shopkeeper smiled a bit more. Still, worth a stay.

The swimming pool needs some attention, and the price feels very high for what you get. The restrooms are old and broken, with water that’s often cold instead of hot. The cleaning team puts in a lot of effort, but it’s hard to keep them clean when they’re in such poor shape.
