Hotel Villa Dirce

We really liked the room and its view over the lake, and breakfast was very good. The staff were friendly and even gave us a little souvenir when we checked out, a lovely gesture. We knew the hotel was a walk from town: a public footpath with steep, narrow stairs takes about 15-20 minutes. It can be quite dark after dinner, though we saw a few other hotel guests on the route.

The views were amazing, and we had a great room, a lovely breakfast, and plenty of privacy. The hotel is outside the city, so arriving by car makes things easier, and there's also a shuttle to Limone. If you're driving, check in early to get a parking space assigned close to the hotel. We had a great stay.

There isn't a restaurant, but bar snacks are available through the day and into early evening. The breakfast was superb, and everything was very clean. The views from the rooms and shared areas are great, and the infinity pool overlooking the lake is a lovely way to cool off. The outdoor bar is comfortable, though it could use more atmosphere; the lake view helps. It's easy to walk into the village, and a minibus is available if you'd rather ride. Reception was helpful, and the staff speak English. An excellent hotel, and I'd definitely return.

We were a little unsure about the location because Google made it look far out, but the walk was completely manageable and the shuttle was great too. Victor and Antonio really went above and beyond for us, and Julia and the rest of the staff made our stay a pleasure. The place has lovely people, a nice pool, and great views. The rooms were modern, clean, and good at keeping out noise, with comfortable beds and air con that did the job. It felt personal rather than like a resort, and the amenities were great. Gracie tutti.
