Da Rosa

Rosa made us feel like family from the start. She was quick to reply on Booking and WhatsApp, and kept helping us both before and during our stay. She mainly speaks Italian, but understands quite a bit of English and was always patient and clear with us. I’ve travelled a lot, and she’s easily one of my five favourite hosts ever, maybe the kindest and most generous I’ve met in Sicily or anywhere else. The apartment is in a characterful 200-year-old building, with a modern, spotless, well-kept bathroom. Rosa keeps everything immaculate. We stayed for two nights, and she cleaned the room and changed our towels on the second day, which was such a thoughtful touch. Breakfast was generous and delicious, easily worth the stay. We had fried eggs, cold cuts, cheese, bruschetta, several Sicilian pastries, croissants, yogurt, jam, butter, juice, and coffee. Fried eggs felt like a rare treat in Italy. Rosa had lots of good ideas for the area: Panchina Gigante, the giant red bench with beautiful views of Mount Etna; Piano Provenzana Etna Nord for exploring Etna’s north side; Gambino Vini for food, wine, and thoughtful service; and Gole Alcantara, where you can walk through the gorge or swim. She also suggested Ristorante Boccaperta, just 40 steps from the B&B. It was an amazing Michelin-starred meal at surprisingly reasonable prices. Linguaglossa is a calm, friendly little town with what you need and kind people around. If you’re exploring Mount Etna and the region, I’d stay here. Catania’s chaotic, stressful traffic made it a poor fit for us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Rosa! Johanne & Roger
