Baita Betulla

The breakfast was meager, and the rooms, while clean, felt cramped and had paper-thin walls. The landlady would knock on the walls with a broomstick if a conversation got louder than a whisper. We were also asked to leave our IDs or passports with them for the entire stay. On departure, they kept 30 EUR from our deposit, saying it was for changing clothes in the ski room and parking shortly before check-in, even though we'd checked beforehand that both were free. For me, this was one of the worst places I've stayed. The hosts felt highly dishonest, and the whole thing was a drama.

The room was very old and dirty, and so dusty that I couldn't sleep there. I asked for my money back ten minutes after arriving, but the owner refused and spoke to me very rudely. She offered no other solution, so I ended up having to pay for a different hotel.

The bus stop is conveniently located and the ski lifts are very close. The rooms are tiny, though, and with more than one suitcase you won't feel comfortable if you're a larger person. For stays longer than 2-4 nights, the food could get dull because the variety is very limited and it's exactly the same every day. The coffee machine and good espresso at breakfast were a plus.

The bed was rock hard, and cold air came in through the closed windows as if there weren't any. What did I expect, though? It's a one-star hut 😅
