Chalet del Sole

The free bus stop right by the house made getting around easy, and the mountain views from the windows were lovely at any time of day. The apartments are roomy, decorated in a cozy alpine style (stile alpino), and had what we needed. I run a professional cleaning business, so I notice the details, and the place was spotless, fresh, and very well cared for. The hosts were warm, helpful, and available with suggestions for sights, places to eat, and making the most of the area. We felt valued. The setting is beautiful and peaceful, and the stay was one I won't forget. Five stars, we'd come back.

For Livigno, this was good value. We stayed in the Chirlo appartment in the basement of the second building. It had no windows, but was tidy, modern, and cozy, with some kitchenware and a microwave, though no kettle. The beds were comfortable, and we figured out the steam function on the multi-function shower. The owner was kind, and for 6 € per person per evening we could use the building's finnish sauna and whirlpool for about 90 minutes. It helped ease the tiredness after skiing. The ski-bus stop is right outside, which is handy, though italian bus service can be a bit sparse. I'd recommend it if you just want a room without board, reasonably close to the slopes.

We chose the place because it was close to the gym, the track, and the lake, which suited us well. The apartment was basic but perfectly usable, and although the kitchen wasn't especially well equipped, we still cooked most nights. The owner was very friendly and moved us to a larger apartment. There was a big group of kids at judo camp during our stay, and they were extremely noisy, especially the first night. We wouldn't recommend overlapping with their stay. The owner offered to move us elsewhere, but we managed with earplugs. We can recommend the place otherwise.

We stayed two nights in June 2025. The rooms need to be brought up to a more normal standard, and the host's manager was not very friendly or welcoming.
