The location is really handy: very close to the Americano cable car, a few minutes' walk from the Carussello cable car, and near several grocery stores, a bus stop and some great restaurants with delicious food and a cosy atmosphere. We booked Garni Gimea directly using the contact details on the website. Before booking, we asked if the room would suit three adults and the owners said yes. The room could fit a third person, technically, but the third “bed” was a joke: the table and chairs turn into a very small, uncomfortable bed. I asked if it could be changed, and was offered another room for only a few nights at an extra charge. It was an unpleasant surprise, especially since I'd asked about the beds several times while booking. The owners are also difficult to communicate with because they don't speak English. The hotel is tidy and has a ski boot drying room. The owners don't like guests taking fruit such as kiwis or apples from the breakfast table to their room. They take it out again while cleaning. That's cruelly crooked. In 20 years of travelling, this is the first time I've had a snack removed from my room.

The hotel is in a quiet area and is well looked after by the owners. There’s a big store nearby, a ski lift within walking distance, and bus stops 50m from the hotel. Rooms are clean, with no bad smells or broken equipment, though some are a bit small or arranged awkwardly, with just 40cm between the bed and wardrobe. A third person can fit, but the “bed” made from the table and chairs is extremely small and uncomfortable. Breakfast is average, fair for the price, though the owners don't seem to like it when you eat too much. They don't communicate well because they don't understand foreign languages, even English. They aren't bad people, but the cultural differences left me with an unfriendly impression. You may enjoy your stay, but I doubt you'd go back.

I stayed here many years ago, shortly after it opened. If the original owners are still running it, I’d highly recommend a stay. It was always spotlessly clean, and the location is great. What I remember most fondly is the family’s warm welcome and friendliness.
