San Giovanni

Our whole BiegunSport ski team comes to Hotel San Giovanni every March, and after all these years it feels like coming home. They organize everything so well for our group of kids, coaches and parents. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the food is delicious, and being right beside the slopes is hard to beat. The people are what make the place special. Savio and all the staff are kind, helpful and welcoming. Everyone in our group loves returning each year. Thanks for taking such good care of us again. We stayed five days, and it was the best vacation of my life. The host was so kind and attentive, the rooms were nice and the breakfast delicious. The mountains are right there, step outside and you’re at the lift. Prices were great, the food tasty, and most of all the people were kind and welcoming. After 20 years of staying here, I reckon it’s time to stop keeping this place to myself. Hotel St Giovanni is Livigno’s hidden treasure, just as Livigno is a hidden gem of the Alps. It’s a bit of a trek from the airport, but the resort is rarely as crowded as others. With the altitude, you can count on snow even when people elsewhere in France are moaning about skiing on six-foot-wide strips of slush. The family-run hotel’s staff are a huge part of its charm. They’ll go out of their way for you, whether that’s saying a friendly good morning, chatting in the restaurant, having a drink after work, or even pushing your car out of the snow after you get it stuck. Rooms are spacious, well equipped and clean, and there’s enough parking for everyone. In my opinion the food is the best in the village. The slopes are so close you don’t need a bus, just walk up behind the hotel and you can get onto the whole mountain. You can understand why some people are reluctant to write a review. Definitely book your holiday here. Just not Week 2, those rooms are mine. :)

San Giovanni has become a place we’re always happy to return to. We visit Livigno often, for long vacations and short trips, and stay here each time. The team is so friendly and goes out of its way to make us feel welcome, with a warm, family-like atmosphere that feels like home. The location is peaceful but close to the slopes. Rooms are spacious, spotless and comfortable, and breakfast is plentiful and delicious, a great start to an active day in the mountains. If you want somewhere you’ll keep coming back to, we couldn’t recommend it more. Svatava
