Hotel Olympia

The owners made us feel right at home in this cozy, family-friendly hotel. A really nice place, and the wine selection was excellent.

The location is fantastic for reaching the Dolomites' attractions, and the service was helpful. Good food too. Everything was fine, five stars.

The ski lockers are right at the bottom of the local chairlift, with heated warmers for three pairs of boots and space for skis. I think some larger lockers are available for different room setups. The hotel itself is up the arabba valley, with great views over town, though it's about a 10-minute walk from the centre. Breakfast had cold meats, cheeses, cereal, cakes, bread, spreads, bacon, scrambled and boiled eggs, plus tea, mostly Twinnings, and coffee. It was generally good, but the selection stayed the same all week, so a rotation of cooked breakfast choices would have been welcome. Dinner was four courses, with options for three courses chosen the night before. Portions were enough for hungry skiers, and the food was generally pretty good, with some interesting combinations. The Wednesday local night was especially good. There were welcome drinks and canapes on Monday evening too. The staff were mostly friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that the cleaners should give more notice before entering the room. Our room was well built rather than just made to look fancy, with a double/Austrian twin and a single bed. The firm mattresses were comfortable after skiing. There was a table and chairs, wardrobe, key-operated safe, and a working TV. The bathroom was fine, but the shower seals probably needed replacing. Towels were changed regularly. WiFi was fine, faster than my home internet. There's no Sky Sports and not much opportunity to watch live sports. The hotel also has a cute cat!

I've stayed here twice now with my family and will definitely return. We found the rooms clean and comfortable, the staff very polite, and the food amazing. It's great value for the price. My family and I highly recommend it.
