Hotel Villa Rosa

I was ill and couldn't travel, so I asked the hotel if I could change my dates. They wouldn't help. I also contacted hotels.com in America, and when they called the hotel to request the same change, they were refused too. The director was terribly unhelpful. My single room was tiny, like a broom cupboard. It was old and outdated, really more like a store room for the cleaning staff. The floor was dirty, with cigarette butts and rubbish under the bed, and the bin was disgusting, as the photo shows. The phone didn't work, there was no fridge or mini bar, and the wardrobe looked like it was from the 50's. The shower and hand basin were terrible. It was noisy and uncomfortable. The director offered me a free drink, a flat, old bottle of Prosecco. Breakfast was terrible too: the eggs were inedible and there was no fresh bread. I was even charged €10 for my dog. A disgrace. I'll never return.

The sea view was nice, but the Spa was very dirty and the Sauna didn't work, even after we asked them to fix it. Employee Domenico wouldn't reduce the price or let us speak with the hotel manager about getting some of our money back. When something goes wrong here, you can't count on the employees to find a solution that satisfies you. That's really disappointing.

The sauna stayed out of order even after we asked for it to be fixed, and the pool area was dirty, with empty, dirty cups left beside it. We visited the spa recently and came away very disappointed. The manager, Dominic, was extremely unfriendly and refused any partial refund for the problems. We felt thoroughly let down.

The terrace is lovely, and Daniel at the terrace bar is great. The receptionists are helpful and the staff are very nice. It's only a two minute walk to the sea. Spa access costs 25 Euros, or 120 euros for a private two-hour visit. Checkout is at 11 am, though you can pay around 80 to stay until 6 pm. P.S. Breakfast is mostly desserts, with almost no savory choices.
