The hotel itself was beautiful, the breakfast was delicious, and the breakfast staff were attentive. The maids also did a great job keeping our room clean. It was a bit noisy because the hotel is attached to a mall, and most of the service was still horrible. We paid for a spot in the garage, which fits about 20 cars, but when we got back from outings it was often full, with cars double parked too. The hotel kept no list of who was allowed to park there or record license plates. Walking up from the mall's regular parking lot to the hotel entrance was a long trek. One evening, the front desk woman buzzed us into the gated garage; the next night, when it was full again, a man at the desk said only owners could park there. We reminded him we'd paid, and he said we wouldn't be charged for that night. That wasn't the point. Service at the bar was poor most of the time. We'd order once a bartender showed up, then wait half an hour or more for the bill while bartenders disappeared. It happened with more than one bartender, and other employees sat around without helping or even acknowledging us. One night I asked for water to take to our room, and a man at the bar, who we thought was a manager, made us feel unwelcome, as if we were stealing it, even though we'd already asked staff about getting a bottle. It wasn't the pleasant first trip to Italy we'd hoped for.

For work in Nola's industrial area, this is the best hotel option I found, and the gym is quite good. There's no pool. The hotel is inside a mall, with not much else to do nearby, and there's no public transport in Nola, so I wouldn't recommend staying here to visit Napoli. Mall restaurants don't open for dinner until 7:30 p.m., so before then it's fast food only. There's Italian ice-cream too. :)

Our room was spotless every day and always stocked, thanks to the fantastic housekeeping staff. The bar was a nice place to unwind in the evenings, and Anna was especially friendly and attentive there. The welcome was warm and professional from the start. Receptionists Annarta and Francesco, along with the young woman who checked us in, were all incredibly helpful. Breakfast was the letdown. The staff need more training, and food wasn't available. When I asked for an omelette, they wanted extra money for it, which was new to me at IHG hotels. Still, great service elsewhere, clean facilities, and a warm atmosphere. Absolutely wonderful stay at Holiday Inn Nola - Naples Vulcano Buono, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Getting to the city center was too far for me, so I ended up taking taxis. If you're working in the area, this hotel is good. But if you need to travel elsewhere and want to use mass transit, it probably isn't the right place for you.

The rooms are OK, but the AC system doesn't work properly. It's in a mall, though there's nothing to buy there.
