Pietra pesara

Francesca was a wonderful host and helped us work out our day trips. We had a delicious breakfast and really enjoyed our four-night stay.

The homemade breakfast was sensational, with lots of authentic local Italian sweet and savory choices. Francesca had also made the thoughtful effort to get me several gluten-free options. She gave us plenty of recommendations and even made lots of calls to book activities for us. We arrived in the dark and missed the large sign outside, our mistake, so we weren't sure we had the right place. We really hoped we did, though, because the lit path through the olive grove looked beautiful, and the lavender smelled fantastic. Francesca greeted us warmly and showed us to our lovely room. We had the deluxe double with a private garden. The building is traditional, but the interiors were so clean, modern, and stunning. This was easily our favorite place to stay in Puglia. We couldn't fault it. Thank you, Francesca!

The rooms are set in 400 yr old trulli, with high quality furnishings and bathrooms thanks to the architectural design. They're easy to get to, and parking is simple. The property is quiet and serene, with olive trees and a garden that supplies ingredients for breakfast. I loved staying here, and Francesca was generous with her time, the property, the delicious breakfast, and all her great tips for things to do. It's 2km from Locorotondo, which is beautiful too, and you can drive, bike, or walk there. The location also makes it easy to reach Martina Franca, Cisternino, Taranto, Polignano a Mare, Torre Canne, and Alberobello by car. The drives take you past the lovely valley, farms, forests, and trulli.

The owners, Francesca and Carlo, are an absolute dream. They make homemade pressed coffee and juice, and breakfast is 10/10. The property has everything you might need. As a frequent traveler who looks for unique experiences, I find it hard to come across real authenticity in tourist places. Pietra Pesara is petite, full of soul, and a wonderful experience. Take a leap of faith and trust me, it's that good. This is the quiet luxury I'm after. Dolce Farniente, Dolce Vita. Forget about Amalfi. Come here.
