Agriturismo Olivuccia

The owners run the place themselves and are very friendly, always around when you need something. Wonderful people and a wonderful location.

Piero & Laide's Agriturismo Olivuccia is tucked among the olive groves of Loreto Aprutino, in the heart of Abruzzo. We stayed with the family in two rooms beside the pool, waking to quiet mornings and a lovely view of the olive trees and Gran Sasso. Piero & Laide are kind and honest, attentive throughout the day, and happy to chat and share the history of the place. Breakfast uses local products and comes with a breathtaking view. The pool among the olive trees was spotless, and dinner with fresh garden produce is available. Excellent restaurants and traditional trattorias are nearby. It's a wonderful stay for anyone who loves peace and nature, and an extraordinary agriturismo in the Abruzzo National Park.

The house is superb and the pool lovely. But there's no breakfast before 9 am, so it's not a good choice if you need to leave early. When breakfast was served, it came without bread, butter, or jam. The meal was offered in a very commercial way for 40 euros, and full payment was due on arrival. The furniture is so old that stealing any of it seems unlikely. Our room wasn't cleaned for five days, the bed was never made, and there were no toiletries.

We'd happily come back and stay longer. The hosts really lived up to their name, and the quiet among the olive groves, broken only by crickets, was so relaxing. The view stretches toward the Majella mountains and all the way to the Gran Sasso. Pescara, Montesilvano, and other coastal towns are still close enough.
